This is one unique place.
I'm and East Coast Girl (ECG), all day every day, but this spot in California is truly growing on me. Other ECG can attest to the fact that the weather dictates your life from moods to clothing choices and even hairstyles. But out here, I wake up everyday and look at this gorgeous landscape, and I feel like I'm in one of those California based theatricals. And don't get me wrong, I never really was the out-doorsy type (a characteristic of many, if not all, true ECGs), but this state has me in love with everything outside my apartment. The architecture, the way the streets move the city up and down in San Fran, the way it's cool in the shade, but blazing just an inch over in the streaming sunshine. I've grown up with a cynical view of weather, but you can't help but be a bit more happy out here. I went biking to the Golden Gate Bridge! Now that is a sign of a matured ECG :)
As much as it has grown on me, I can honestly say that it won't sadden me to see it go when I leave later this year. This experience will be one that I'm content with. But I must say, this little ECG is waiting to reclaim that East Coast lifestyle.
Try everything once ;-)
