L.O.V.E

It's V-Day tomorrow so I thought I'd do a special for those lovers out there ;-)

My senses can't make sense of it!
it pulls and I'M SCREAMING
I beg for those moments of shy glancing...gentle touching
A balance on the brink of unbearable ecstasy...
Oh yes, I know, it'll be the death of me

But the French have made a word for it
Forward thinking is not a part of this,
It's in here and now, your arms, my smile
Your heart, it pounds and tempo quickens
As the Temp. awakens and the heat remains yet, unforgiving

I ask, is this the feeling?
You answer, can't you feel me?
But miles have blurred those late convos
And lately we converse through Fios
Kisses melted through the airways
Touch so close, but always far, far away

More now than ever, my mind is muddled
With envious visions of you enveloped in other decisions
And I call, you always answer
Reassurance from your assurance is the core of this answer

So I smile, and it's been so long, so it feels so good :)

Hope you enjoyed it ;-)

Bay Areaaaa!

This is one unique place.

I'm and East Coast Girl (ECG), all day every day, but this spot in California is truly growing on me. Other ECG can attest to the fact that the weather dictates your life from moods to clothing choices and even hairstyles. But out here, I wake up everyday and look at this gorgeous landscape, and I feel like I'm in one of those California based theatricals. And don't get me wrong, I never really was the out-doorsy type (a characteristic of many, if not all, true ECGs), but this state has me in love with everything outside my apartment. The architecture, the way the streets move the city up and down in San Fran, the way it's cool in the shade, but blazing just an inch over in the streaming sunshine. I've grown up with a cynical view of weather, but you can't help but be a bit more happy out here. I went biking to the Golden Gate Bridge! Now that is a sign of a matured ECG :)

As much as it has grown on me, I can honestly say that it won't sadden me to see it go when I leave later this year. This experience will be one that I'm content with. But I must say, this little ECG is waiting to reclaim that East Coast lifestyle.

Try everything once ;-)

Masked Up

Contemplating...so much on my mind
But I smile and I dance and I sing along
Eyes don't want to see scars,
So many think I have none.
Yet, if I sat you down to listen,
I could recount each one, each stitch that makes me...me
But would you listen?

Would you listen if it meant breaking away from your security?
Would you listen if it put a mirror up to your farce?

Those Eyes would not hear my words, but instead look for a sign
A sign that this is a joke.
One that would quickly bring back that mask and make it all bearable.
It is easier, when you don't have to glance at others' pain
And when you lack empathy, claiming bits of sympathy.

So, I'll make your day...simple
Don't look my way.
Just keep in the back of your "open" mind,
I'm not wearing that mask,
Well...at least not today.

Back To Blogging

I realized I miss blogging...generally it helps clear my mind and organize my thoughts.
Since my last blog, I have returned to the US, but realize that I can't wait to make my complete transition to LIB.

As of lately, I've been doing the whole grad school thing, and its pretty intense thus far. I'm hoping that this year goes by quickly and then BAM! I'm back in Liberia, lol. I'm hoping that I can inspire more of my generation to want to return and realize that Liberia needs us to make a difference, rather than depending on the way things have been run. We have the knowledge and drive to change the system and mindset of thousands, something that we all need to become aware of.

I dream big, the world is most definitely my oyster :)

W.O.R.D.S. of the Day

lonely is equivalent to a mental state,
which is easily factored into every being
yet its remainder refuses to be multiplied into a working sequence
once sequenced though, lonely can be the common denominator between happiness and permanent isolation
for there is no error in being lonely, only a subtracted negative state of mind
some think to add in unnecessary terms, only to find that lonely on its own is infinitely...
sufficient
