99 Days...and counting

And so my life is taking a new course.

I am officially moving to West Africa, Liberia specifically, to pursue my business career. Luckily, I landed a job at a new bank there and am quite excited :). I start Sept. 1!

Liberia-in-Africa-map.gifWhat does this all mean?

Just that I am making that real adult transition and am ready to take on responsibilities expected, and even those not expected, of me. The quality and purpose of life is much clearer for me over there than in the US. Both countries have their pros and cons, but I am proud to say I want to be there rather than here.

I'm proud of my culture and background, and I feel bad for so many black americans that don't fully accept their origins, or even seek out where they are originally from. These people live a restricted life and fear their roots, choosing instead to accept the culture forced upon them through desperation.

I want to go back and emphasize that Africa is as important as any Western or Asian society and should no longer be overlooked. The future truly resides in Africa.

Liberia (LIB)

So I'm here in the motherland finally!

Personally I love my country. Of course many improvements can be made, but I really appreciate the naturalness here and I love how crazy Liberians are, lol.

I'm going to use this blog to sort of document the next 6 months here, as well as keep up with my creative line if thought. For my loves back in the states follow me here for new pics and updates!
